Thousands Experiencing Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Approximately 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems swept through the area, bringing wind gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Broad Impact
Residents reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities announced that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews working to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
At the same time, approximately 1,000 residents in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its wettest day in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams received over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

- Wyndham region - over 175 help reports
At the height on yesterday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand energy customers in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both states.
Safety Concern
Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
This alert comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to significant health impacts in the region.
